Crane Refresher Training

This course is designed for crane operators whose AITT certification has lapsed or is approaching its renewal date. The content is adapted to the delegate's existing experience and the type of equipment used on your site.

AITT certificates are valid for three years. Refresher training ensures operators remain competent, up to date with current legislation, and able to demonstrate continued compliance with LOLER and PUWER requirements.

• Review of relevant legislation (LOLER, PUWER, HSWA)
• Roles and responsibilities of the crane operator
• Pre-use inspection and checks
• Safe working loads and load charts
• Controls, travel and load handling
• Emergency procedures and safe shutdown
• Practical assessment on your equipment

Who is this course for?

This course is for operators who hold or have previously held an AITT certificate for overhead crane, bridge crane or jib crane operation, and who need to renew their certification. It is not a first-time operator course — delegates should have prior operating experience.

Assessment and certification

The course includes a theory assessment and a practical assessment conducted on your equipment. Delegates who meet the required standard receive a renewed AITT accredited certificate.
